THE TENSAR ARES® SYSTEM

THE EFFICIENT RETAINING WALL SYSTEM

WHAT IS IT? 

The Tensar ARES systems offer modular and full-height panel walls that provide attractive and reliable solutions for a variety of grade change requirements, saving time and money during installation. The ARES Systems offer cost advantages over conventional panel walls while eliminating the risks associated with the long term exposure to chlorides, sulfates, low-resistivity soils or stray electric current potential. 

​EarthTech is an authorized supplier of the ARES System in Canada. 

HOW DOES IT WORK? 

The ARES system's panels are cast with HDPE geogrid tabs embedded in the rear face for connection to Tensar uniaxial (UX) geogrids. The UX geogrids are manufactured from select grades of HDPE resins that are highly oriented and resist deformation when subjected to high tensile loads for long periods of time. These geogrids carry large tensile loads applied in one direction. Their open aperture structure interlocks with natural fill materials making them ideal for MSE applications.

​The e-Wire system anchors any flexible polymeric reinforcement to hot-dipped galvanized welded wire mesh (WWM) with a mechanical connection. This makes the e-Wire a versatile, cost-effective, and structurally resilient alternative to competing MSE wall systems. The struts are designed to hook the WWM, the anchoring rod, and the secure rod to enhance the integrity of the system.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The e-Panels are produced using recycled plastics reinforced with rebar. This points to a number of advantages over traditional MSE retaining wall panels. It ends a cycle of pollution by reducing the spread of microplastics ​​and other plastic pollutants in landfills, soil, and water. In addition, the e-Panel's innovative design has lower requirements for plastic sorting and purification, which increases the regional recycling rate. 

It also reduces GHG emissions by mitigating the environmental costs of cement production. As a result, the e-Panel is waterproof. Making it ideal for waterfront or riverbank projects.
